Methods of evalating
We search the archives of history for the truth about ourselves. We search the past to give meaning and continuity to the present. But the task has proven futile because we can only conjure up the images we have used to describe ourselves. It's like looking into the mirror image of a mirror -- we see ourselves in images of infinite regress. Instead of finding the substance of our beginnings, we find obsolete meanings of previously discarded images that human beings had of themselves.
Where then is the continuity across the ages? If it's not in the fragments of history, it may be found in the methods we use to fashion the worlds in which we live.
We offer you 6 authors of the 20th century who created innovative life works as contributions toward the adulthood of humankind. For now, you can browse through the brief biographies we have provided. We hope eventually to develop an expansion of their themes.
